National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Workplace Safety) (Level 1)

Course Information

At the successful completion of this course the learner will achieve a National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 1) by the NZQA.

This qualification is designed to accommodate the needs of a cross section of industry personnel. The qualification provides evidence of the attainment of a foundation level of workplace health and safety competency as well as a range of supporting communication skills. The qualification also recognises specialist competencies associated with workplace safety and health issues including first aid, fire and emergency response, and occupational health and safety practice.

The student will be provided with the course material one month in advance of 4 scheduled sessions with the tutor. There is also the requirement to complete assignments to meet the assessment outcomes.
